Very true. Most of them wind up in jail. They don't seem to have any conscience or fear of punishment. As far as I know there doesn't seem to be any effective treatment.

Just to ask a question, what do you think are the reasons behind Bin Laden's attacks on us and our allies?

I think he wants to maintain the iron grip of control on the parts of the muslim world that agree with him. I think he wants to spread the influence of his version of islam. I think he sees the United States and her allies as the biggest threat to that goal. I see him and all the radical clerics such as the ones who control Iran and the ones who did control Afghanistan as being part of the same group. Whether he actually believes he is doing God's will I could not tell you but he certainly uses the religious beliefs of others to further his cause.

Bin Laden said it was because of the presence of American troops in Saudi Arabia, U.S. support of Israel, and our invasion of Iraq. Basically he wants the USA out of the middle east. He feels the same as you would if another country came over here and tried to change your system of government and religion.

Well first off since the invasion of Iraq took place after 9/11 it is hard to believe it had anything to do with motivating Bin Laden. American troops were in Saudi Arabia with the permission of the Saudi government. They were not an occupying force. I can see where he has a problem with our support for Israel but that hardly seems enough to justify the killing of innocent people.

Bin Laden is evil. He is not someone you can rationalize and understand. He is motivated by his desire to force people to live the way he wants. He wants to keep women under submission and force everyone to accept his version of Islam.

Before the invasion of Iraq he used our sanctions against Iraq as a reason. Now, don't get me wrong, I think he should be shot in the head on sight. I'm just trying to say sometimes the difference between good and evil depends on which side of the fence you are standing on.

The methods he uses are completely different. If he tried to persuade others or work through the system to make it happen then he would be within his rights. He uses violence and that is what sets him apart.
