Panthers | James Suffers Dehydration - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
14:08 PT: Associated Press reports Carolina Panthers OL Jeno James had to be carted off the field after suffering from dehydration.

    Let's hope he's A-OK.

I think I read this as a "quote" on TBR... :D What does not kill you, makes you stronger! Sounds like Jeno should be a bit stronger this year...

It seems to me the most logical place for the Panthers to hold camp would be in the mountains. There are a number of schools in the NC and SC mountains with adequate facilities where temperature would not be an issue. I wonder if this was considered or will be in the future.

The last few years, I've felt that practice could be held indoors. I think in a controlled environment they could practice a lot more football in a 75-85 low humidity climate. The increased playing time would speed and timing. I'm not saying to hold the whole training camp indoors, but certainly one of the two-a-days would be beneficial.

    From KFFL-7/29 thread:
Panthers | James’ Condition - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
3:38 PT: As an update to previous reports, Steve Reed for the Gaston Gazette reports Carolina Panthers OL Jeno James (heat exhaustion) had to have three intravenous bottles after being carted off the field Saturday for heat exhaustion. James said he lost 12 pounds, dropping to 302, on the first day of training camp. James, however, did return to practice Sunday.

Damn, 12 pounds on the first day, and back at it. I wonder how many footballl players are race fans and if any try to do what they do to get hydrated for a race? They take on serious fluids before a race in preparation of losing weight in the car.
