What a dumbass thing to say. Every school in the country would suspend the kid from the team at the very least until this was cleared up.
Schools don't have to abide by that innocent until proven guilty stuff.

it's my understanding all the kids are suspended from school - suspended from school means no athletics - hell he may not even be able to graduate with his class.

way to fuck it up Jameson - instead of going down in the record books you'll just be going down.

What a dumb-ass thing for you to say. Lets say that he goes to court and is found not guilty. All we know about it is what we have read and heard. So then what, does he get his day in court to sue those who falsly accused him? What would be the harm of the school adopting an innocent until proven guilty stance?

I thank Almighty God that the Founding Fathers of this great country had less trust in law enforcement "authorities" than you obviously have.

Plans were in place to retire Curry's jersey at Friday nights game.

I think that's a great statement from Williams. A true gentleman.

"It happened today, so I don’t have enough information at this time."

"It’s so new and no one has any great information right now"

The state is blessed to have such wisdom on it's roster.

Because that has never ever been the standard at school.

You think Shelden Williams got a chance to sue the girl that accused him of rape? You just want to give preferential treatment to an athlete. I say treat him just like anyone else.

Left me give you a little tip so you don't say something stupid like this again. Being guilty of a crime has nothing to do with whether or not you can be suspended from school. You think the guy who was accused of plotting to bomb Concord High should have been in school until convicted?

Now where did I imply that? I'm saying the same about any of the students who were busted. Some may have been in the school band, others may have been on the debate team.

For the record, I think that smoking North Carolina's All-American product, tobacco, should be against the rules for high school athletes, and if caught then a sanction should be imposed upon the rule-breaker. But even for that offense, there should be some kind of due process, even if it is a trip to the principlal's office. I don't see that Curry has even seen that chance. What I see is lynch mob of people who have found themselves downwind of unsubstantiated internet smoke.

But we are talking about something MUCH bigger here. I first learned of this on the Prep forum when someone posted before this thread started. The first thing I did was to put Curry's name in google NEWS search. The first two hits were from newspapers in Miami and San Francisco, the AP story only two hours old.

I am skeptical about drug war hysteria. Too many years as an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard and too many years studying constitutional law, I suppose.
