According to the News 14 report I just heard Jake thought it happened on a previous play where there was contact

Says on the Clt web page the injury happened when Abraham sacked him and was trying to rip the ball out and Jake was holding on to it. He finally realized the extent on the short pass when he went down.

Yeah, I saw that and don't care. The specifics I want to know are what the injury actually is and how long he'll be out. Wp28 has sources, but even the team probably won't know for sure until the MRI.

Actually the story does say that he didn't feel a sharp pain until that pass where there was no contact.

We should reserve judgement, yeah. It's just natural to be concerned, unless he can also throw lefty.

I'm just hoping it's not a fracture. Would I feel better stuck with Carr for a month or so instead of Weinke? You bet.

If Jake really did collapse to his knees before he even got off the field, I have to think that the ligament is either detached or torn. I hope to god that it's not, but pain that severe in that area is a very, very bad sign.
