As N.C. State's players prepared to take the field for warm-ups, they found UNC's linebacker corps huddled in the end zone directly in front of the tunnel leading to the Wolfpack's dressing quarters at the Murphy Football Center.
Several State players - along with head coach Chuck Amato - demanded that the Tar Heel players move. The players went face-to-face in a mild skirmish that saw no punches thrown, but enough jawing and pushing to rile up the State student section and send assistant coaches from both sides into the fray to intervene.
Amato charged to midfield for an animated meeting with UNC coach John Bunting, who stood stoically with his arms folded. Amato angrily pointed in the direction of the tunnel, apparently describing to Bunting what he felt had sparked the extra curricular activities.
Bunting showed no visible reaction - including not returning what appeared to be Amato's offer to shake hands. The State coach responded to the snub with a "the heck with you'' wave in Bunting's direction and stalked back downfield to regain his team.

Did you see Chuck screaming at the ref while he was waiting for word back from the reply on that lateral? What good does it do to scream at a guy who isn't making the call? Stupid.

It's amazing to me how much State teams and fans resemble one another. There's always a ton of sound and fury before the game, and then ... ... ... nothing.

I've always heard that Bunting is kind of an ass, but to stand right in the way of the home team's tunnel is just stupid and absurd. Amato had every right to be mad at that. Bunting better savor this win cause there won't be many more coming this season.
