It's time to do what you do baby. You gotta go where you go so we can make this shit happen! Look Charlotte, this is the difference between making the playoffs in year 3 vs year 5 or 6. We've been here before. We have had three teams come through in the lottery, one was one of the biggest statistical improbabilities in the history of the draft. We can do it again. The Cleveland pick was a gift, let's cash in on it!

Remember the year we needed a center. Man, we had just gotten lucky with LJ, we had a strong year, if we just had a center. There's two there, can our pick make it? I believed! I just knew we would get a top two pick, and then, it happened :ylsuper:

I still remember the first time we broke our cherry. The newness had started to wear off the franchise. We had drafted Kendall Gill to replace our first draft pick Rex Chapman. Our second pick, JR Reid, was a semi-skilled player with little work ethic or heart. Our first hero, Kelly Tripucka, was old. And we were relying on the Rudy Keys and Elliott Perry's to get it done. Sure, we had Muggsy and Dell, but they weren't 'special' yet, as we had no idea they would be lifers (essentially). We needed lifeblood and then BAM, hit the lottery jackpot. Talk about hitting the goldmine, literally ;)

They say the third time is a charm, and it was. After having a chance to make the playoffs on the last day of the strike shortened season, we got the third pick in the 1999 NBA Draft. I remember my friend telling me the news, and just being in disbelief knowing the odds. Unfortunately the gift of Baron was ultimately balanced by the death of Bobby Phills, but I digress, Baron gets a pic too :ylsuper:

Anyway, I know this aint the Hornets. It will never be what the Hornets were, but it can be something special. And it can all start tonight :ylsuper:

imagine the cries of conspiracy if charlotte gets any combination of 2 of the top 3 picks.

I think it would be even funnier if the top 3 picks belonged to Charlotte and Atlanta, and that New Orleans would be pushed down two number 4. I know its not a big drop, but its enough that it'd piss off ever Hornet fan in the state of LA.
