sounds like an awful Apple tie-in contraption to force people to use another Apple product because it's trendy. Tell me I'm wrong.

They are ETFs which are sort of like mutual funds and usually have less expense ratios. They have a higher turnover in their portfolios.

Haven't studied them much...but I'm pretty sure these are mainly...if not all...index funds that trade on the exchange. This would mean VERY LITTLE turnover. Which means few capital gains. The dividends would be based on which fund you buy.

I assume they work like all other traded funds...the price is not based on the holdings, but on the demand of the actual fund itself. Therefore, you can have funds trading at premiums and discounts to their actual underlying value.

ishares are index funds-exchange traded funds that are managed by Barclays...it is their Trademark or brand recognition for the index funds they initiated and manage.
