I respectfully disagree. Yes, it's true that in that culture, unmarried daughters had potential monetary value because of the customs surrounding marriage. Therefore, not only is the daughter a victim in this horrific crime, but her family is as well -- particularly if her mother is a widow. But I feel that part of the law addresses the 'penalty phase' of the crime in question, not the illegitimacy of the act itself. The primary message is still "Don't do this or there will be consequences."

That is a social injustice, and not something to be confused with the standards of God.

Judgment Day. According to the Bible, at some point everyone goes through it. It's the day when everything kept in the dark, all the things we think we've gotten away with, come out into the open for all to see. Any and every sin has everything to do with it.

And just to clarify, the Bible says if you reject Christ, you're doomed to an eternity in hell. There's a difference there.

Judgement Day. To get a little off track here, I never really done any studying on judgement day. What exactly occurs? How do those that are saved and those that aren't pay for their sins?

Jesus stands as the judge of mankind. Those who are saved don't pay for their sins, because Christ has already paid the price for them. That's what being 'saved' means -- saved from the penalty for our sins.

Those who aren't saved fall into one of two categories: those who were taught the Gospel and rejected it, and those who have never heard the Gospel. For those who have rejected the Gospel and chosen to stand on their own merits, the Bible says there is no hope. They will be found guilty and condemned to hell. For those who have not heard the Gospel, they will be judged by a different standard. They'll be judged by what they have been taught, and on their actions, words, and thoughts. The Bible says even their consciences will play a part in their judgment. So hope is not lost for them -- it will be up to Christ to discern whether or not to let them into His heaven, just as it is for everyone else.

I have always been taught that those that accepted Jesus Christ, before death, will be saved. So let's see some bible verses about the people who have never heard the Good News and their chances for salvation.

Okay, back to being held accountable for sins. If you commit one sin or a billion during your lifetime, and don't accept Jesus Christ, you go to hell. If you commit one sin or a billion during your lifetime, and accept Jesus Christ, you go to heaven. If you don't commit any sins at all, (which I know is impossible) you still go to hell if you don't accept Jesus Christ. Sin doesn't seem to be a part of this equation at all. How is that being held accountable for your sins?

    That's Biblically accurate.

    Certainly.

Rejecting Christ is a sin. In fact, it is the most heinous of all sins. There is a warning in Hebrews 10:26-31...
