Is Redick in the top 10 players at Duke in the last 25 years?

I think it has so much to do with the ESPN Hype Train. Every year, some player is tagged "One of the greatest evah, baby!" and it just ain't so. Redick is a hella shooter and scorer but, then again, what was the name of the Virgina Cavalier player that had the 3 point record?

I'm a Heels guy and the overhyped is so common at the Hill as to be ridiculous. I can see the ESPN wheels already spinning on a certain young post player and it pisses me off.

Dude, just 'cause you want to blow him....

On his best day, he isn't a better college player than Hill, Ferry, Dawkins, Brand, Hurley or even Battier.

He's a great shooter, who is in a program geared to get him shots. He's scrappy, but his all-around game just isn't there to possibly justify your comment.

He's the all-time scorer, but compare number of shots and three pointers vs. what Dawkins did.

He had one of the most dominant seasons that a freshman big man has had in quite a while. Whatever it may be, it's not overhype.

People are saying that he's overrated based on his recent letdown, but he is still averaging more points than anyone in the ACC since David Thompson. He's not the best though, but he's gotta be in there since he's the all-time leading scorer and the #2 in most three point shots. I never saw Dawkins play but Coach K said he's better than anyone he's ever coached, with Laettner coming in a close second. Taylor got points on a bad Duke team. Art Heyman and Dick Groat are both top 10 players. Maybe Heyman being in the top 5. He was unbelievable and averaged 26 points his last season. I think Brand is one of the most talented to play at Duke, but he only played for two years so he's off that list.
Art Heyman, Dick Groat, Battier, Laettner, Dawkins, Gminski, Grant Hill, Hurley, Redick, Jason Williams
with Gene Banks, Alarie, Jim Spanarkel on the honorable list

Dumbass, I'm a fucking Carolina fan. In fact, I can't wait for his sorry ass to graduate, and that's one of the reasons I know he's better than most of the players on that list. Laettner was a great college player and Dawkins was before my time, but Redick belongs on that next tier right below them with Brand as the only Duke guys that I dreaded seeing. Battier never scared me. Hurley was a great point guard, but he never scared me either. Hell, neither did Grant Hill. And whether he's just hit 5 in a row or missed 15 of his last 16, I never want to see Redick taking a shot against the Tar Heels because I always think it's going to go in. Hate him all you want, but the guy is really damn good.

I said it long before his 4 game skid! HE IS primarily a one trick pony. Most of the players on that list are/were far better overall players.

He is a one trick pony, but since when do you get victories for having the most rebounds? I understand what you're saying, and I absolutely agree that Redick isn't well-rounded, but he isn't a liability in any area and the one thing he does better than anyone else is the most important thing of all.
