Is Farve the last of a dieing breed?

Just reading some of the comments in different threads and I am stumped to find QBs that have been benchmarks with their teams for more than 5 years. Yes there are a few.

    When I think of Miami, I think of Marino, Denver/Elway, Dallas/Troy/Staubach, Pittsburgh/Bradshaw, Buffalo/Kelly, and a few more.

Culpepper is approaching his 5th, or is he? When I think of Baltimore I still think of "Colts" not Ravens not Manning. :)

Plummer's past 5 but showing signs of declining not improving.

Bottom line, Farve appears to be the last of a dieing breed. Free Agency, I guess. Back in the day, you never thought about any of the guys listed up top being anywhere but the place they played. I think in its own right, its what built such "long term" fan bases for those teams. Those QBs brought Superbowls (in most cases, Championships) fans followed them for years.

So where the hell am I going with this? I don't know just seemed like something to talk about when I started it...

Oh yea, if not a QB, then a "L Taylor" with the Giants.

So where am I going... yea, what player do Panther fans have that they have followed for 5 years? Moose? Walls? I dunno those guys have been great - at times, but they are not "difference makers" game in and game out. I think we have a few that could be that guy now... Morgan? Peppers? Morgan is starting to be a walking bill board for First Aid kits and Peppers is.. well gone till next year.

So what do I want for Christmas? I want a freakin "difference maker" in 2003 and I want him signed to a freaking loooooong ass contract.

    Two words. Salary cap.

Starting QBs that have been with their respective teams the longest.

    1. Farve, since forever
    2. Kordell 95 (though he’s back to the bench, after playing well in relief)
    3. McNair - 95
    4. Brunnel – 95
    5. Plummer 97?
    6. Manning 98
