All you people that have used this sure don't know shit about it for 15 minutes of using it in a store and declaring that it will change the world, that no Windows device comes close, etc.

Yes, the display whips ass. Yes, the rest of it goes from so-so to 5 year old tech. Yes, it costs $600. Yes, it's a fanboy wetdream.
The one person I know that bought one actually bought two, and he was recently booted from his house, barely got an apartment because of bad credit, has declared bankruptcy twice, and has had a $100k per year job the whole time. Oh, and he has a wife and 2 kids. And every Apple gadget ever. He's why I hate this thing - it's all sizzle, no steak, and the hype is insane, and dumb people fall for it.

Last word from my blackberry which is like smoke signals compared to iphone.

All is trumped though by waiting for Transformers to start with my 6 year old. W00t.

 

I messed around with one for about an hour last night. Cool concept but it didn't usuall work very smoothly. I found myself tapping the screen several times to get the right action or hitting the icons that were near by instead. The network is literally slow as balls and while it's opening sites it basically freezes. Nice screen though.

I sensed my friend was a bit dissappointed in it. He's been waiting on it for like 4 years.

It has alot of cool stuff but falls sort of the hype IMO.
I really expected to be impressed despite my skepticism on here. It's a toy not a tool.

 

When I used it, I used the wifi network in the Apple store - so it moved very nicely.

I'd imagine it blows ass on AT&T's network - and it can't be upgraded even if the network is.

 

AT&T's network rocks - I use it today with 1mb/s speeds on my phone...
It's the unreal decision to use EDGE only when the other alternatives were there that causes this. Excusable except for the fact that this is a $600 phone that should be flawless in it's use of modern tech, not lagging behind every other modern phone...

 

So I'm hearing a 32GB, 3G model is coming out late summer, early fall. Think it's time to jump? Is there something else on the market comparible?

 

that's what i decided to do. nothing is as sexy as the iphone.
