    That would wipe out everything he has on his hard drive. He only needs to fix IE.

    I went and cleared out the cookies and the temp files and it fixed the problem right away. what the hell? thats right up there with making sure its plugged in.

    I've always restored just before the date that things started screwing up, never had any problem.

    You might wanna consider

    1) Update Virus and Antispyware definitions.

    2) Do all windows updates

    3) Disable System Restore

    4) Reboot into safe mode

    5) Do a thorough virus and spyware scan

    6) Reboot normally and re-enable System Restore
