Panther, I agree to a point, but hell we've had injuries every year whether or not the practices are intense. At least with the intense practices we seem to have a more intense team. Certainly a better conditioned team. Maybe we can chalk at least part of our last minute flops on conditioning. Our team was weakminded last year. Make it tough on them now and maybe it will pay off later.

Have you ever noticed that injuries occur like crazy during the preseason and the beginning of the season and then seem to level off as the season progresses.

I'm thinking it has something to do with being in "game shape". Is it possible that a hard hitting camp gets players into game shape faster?

It might also be that some guys just can't hack it - and they get weeded out early.

I'm all for hitting in camp, though. Football is a contact sport.

I agree, weeding out is the simplest way to phrase it. So far I think Coach has prepared them to expect a brutal camp. He also has prepared in a statement that he will have trainers to keep a close eye on the heat effect and has stated that he has alternate workout schemes if things get too bad. We have warm weather teams to play this year, so why not prepare?

Everybody knows the games are easier than pratice or should be. I say let'em sweat. What we did in the past few years hasn't worked so intensify the damn thing.
