The theory is all complex systems are the result of intelligence. The evidence is that a complex system cannot be produced that was not the result of intelligence.

Science often employs similiar "generalizations". See the Law of Gravity.

okay. so where do you draw the line? scientifically speaking, i mean.

what do you think about the lungfish or the mudskipper?

yeah. i actually meant the question in terms of "was that your question". didn't really read that way, tho.

i don't believe there's enough fossil evidence to make this claim. the earliest hominids are partial skeletons at best.

So there is not enough evidence to make my claim, but there is enough evidence to make the claim that we evolved from apes?

    Sweet.

vp, cro magnon man had a huge skull (huge jaw, protruding brow line), but a tiny cranium. So did all of the other early species. The fossil record shows the evolution of cranium size (bigger over time) quite clearly.

That's not evidence. That's asking someone to prove the negative.

Is it just me, or does the tree in that comic look like a chic's torso?

what is a complex system? what is intelligence? are you saying a school of fish are intelligent? the terms are a bit subjective, so i'd like to know what you're using as a measure.

how does gravity enter into this? what generalizations are employed by that theory?

yes. i don't think you can take a few bones and suggest you know the infant mortality rate of early hominids. but i do think you can take a few bones and recognize a progressional evolution from one set of bones to another.

and we didn't evolve from apes. rather, we evolved from a common ancestor.

Are you saying that the size of man's heads has changed or just the brain cavity?

I am talking external dimensions of the head, not the size of the area that the brain would occupy. I was thinking I had seen that did not change too much over time.

And where did this common ancestor evolve from?
