Insurance settlement on totaled auto

    He will not charge her for the consultation. Even if the $1000 is eat up in legal fees I would rather it go to the lawyer than the insurance company.

    Her lawyer had to cancel her appointment. He had court or something. Anyway I think she is just going to take the low ball offer now just to get it over with. There needs to be a standard established that insurance companies have to meet. If not blue book at least some standard that is independent of them. Letting them decide the value of your car is a built in conflict of interest.

    YOU NEVER TAKE THE FIRST OFFER. Of course they will low ball you. I got a little MORE then bluebook on mine. They have to FIND you a car with the same milage and in as good of shape for that 2,000 then.

    If it were my car I would fight with them but mom does not want the hassle. They are going to pay her $700 for her "pain and suffering" so she will be pretty close to the $3000 she wanted. She was really not injured in the wreck other than minor bumps and bruises.
