My boy is a little over a year old now and has never had this problem. He was breastfed. I fed him some fruity Hawaiian baby food last night and then he filled up the diaper. I think it had a laxative in it or something....

One of my stepsons has that problem though. He is 11 and he will go like a week with out going then stop up the toilet.

we just started our son on rice cereal and it slowed him down a bit. he's officially graduated from "pooping" to "shitting his pants". i fear for my safety.

My daughter isn't far from that. If her gas is any indication of things to come she's going to run my out of the house. Can't take her anywhere. Took her to the mall and all she did was fart, loud. Our doc told us not to do the rice cereal yet. I was interested in the rice so our daughter would sleep through the night. Luckily she's already doing that.

My son is a year old and I can count on one hand the nights he has slept the whole time....... He eats baby food and lots of stuff now but still wakes up hungry about 3:30 every morning.

That has to be tough. Our doc said that if she wakes up, try not to feed her one night and see if she goes back to sleep. He said sometimes babies are like adults in that they will wake up during the night but then go back to sleep if you leave them alone. Now, if the crying starts up and doesn't stop then that's another story because no one sleeps if baby doesn't sleep.

Try giving him a sippy cup of water. One of mine did that but hers was more of a habit of getting up to eat...not really hungry.

I think that might be the problem. We let him sleep in the bed and his mom is usually there to nurse him. She has to work at night sometimes though and then I get stuck with warming a bottle at 3am.....

Which brings us to another issue. I say give the bottle at room temperature. Wife warms the bottle. Makes going on trips/shopping etc... a pain if you need to warm the bottle each feeding.

I agree...when they are baby babies...warm it...but after that gradually make it room temp. I couldnt wait for mine to be a year so I wouldnt have to do the bottle thing at all.

He will take it at room temperature. The problem is you have to store that stuff in the fridge if you want to keep it for any length of time. He will not take it when it is cold. Whether I warm it to room temp or to "warm" it still means I have to get up and warm it.
