Wow. No one mentioned blacklists and soviet agents. But since you bring it up, he was wrong in his accusations and is generally regarded as having had a significant NEGATIVE affect on the anti-communist movement because of the huge backlash to his wild browbeating tactics.

Back to the movie - it was a solid indian jones movie, even if the alien crap was just that...but I was entertained. And the movie isn't even slightly communist-sympathetic, that's just ignorant.

If you wanted me to come into your thread, you could have just pm'd me instead of posting this bullshit. I haven't seen the movie yet though, so I don't know why you'd want me here.

right or wrong they put an absurd anti-red rally in the movie. the bad guys were soviet agents, but not evil commies. you tell me how it's ignorant to pick up on that string. i'm not the one that put the rally in the movie and speilberg is an outspoken critic of the blacklists, FWIW, i think the blacklists were stupid. it is a free country.

i guess i expected them not make it really cheesey. indy jones movies are rediculous but the other three weren't cheesey.

you do realize the movie was set in the 50's? And these kinds of anti-red rallys were common? And there was nothing "anti-anti-red rally" at all in the movie, they just drove through it? And you do realize it was funny that they drove through a rally while being chased by agents that the rally was specifically against? And that the agents were draped in the anti-red rally banner?

Why am I bothering... the other 3 indy movies were HUGELY cheesy, if you didn't get that you'll never get this...

If the past history of TBR movie criticism holds true than this movie blows as WilliamJ says. Y'all pretty much like everything.

Actually, I usually dislike most movies that we're 'supposed' to like.
