I think you're becoming a little obsessed with bashing Carolina. :banginghe It bothered everyone for a while, but now its getting to be a little ridiculous. Good luck to the Blue Devils come December 2005. :trophy:

I have two hobbies: bashing Carolina and placing feral animals down my pants for the purposes of wagering.

He had to bash UNC this year, he didn't have enough confidence to promote his own team. You know UNC winning it all this year has really put a kink in sly's plans of dook dominating UNC and overall accomplishments between the two programs.

You really have to consider this is the only thing sly can resort himself to at this point. At least next year he should be ok, but I am warning you all now, if dook doesn't win the ACC and make at least a final 4 trip, we may have to talk sly down off of a high ledge, of course hopefully it will be "jump bastard jump".

Don't worry sly, we all still love you just like before. :imagestor

    on a lighter note.........

I found it kinda funny that "Sean May, UNC and National Champions" were mentioned 8-10 times in yesterdays Observer article about Sheldon Williams opting out of the NBA draft.

Shelden is still the better player. If May had trouble running the court and playing a lot of minutes in college he is going have a heart attack in the pros.

Well Sheldons play tailed off in the second half of last year and Mays play was as strong as anybody in the nation, even Sheldon knows May was his daddy last year. I am sure he really didn't want to fall so far in the draft with May going to be picked so far ahead of him in the draft.

He ran the court all year on the team that ran the most and only got better as the season went on. You really need to give it up.

Or maybe you are watching reruns of games from 2 years ago and just don't realize it. :imagestor

May and Shelden's respective seasons were in large part due to their supporting casts this year. Anyone who knows anything about basketball could see that. Shelden demonstrated time and again two years ago that he could hit the 12-15 foot jumper. This year, he didn't even try. Who was going to rebound if he missed?

If you watch the tape of the Duke vs UNC games you will only see one or two buckets where May scored on Shelden. EVERY shelden basket was scored on may.The largest portion of his scoring came on weak side rebounds where Shelden had to leave him to contest an open layup and the only person we had who could rotate over was Melchionni. Shelden caused the shooter to miss but May reaped the benefits.

You guys can spin it how you want. May put up impressive stats but the fact is, they were pretty much over Melchionni due to our depth issues in the post.

I'm still convinced Shelden will be the better NBA player due to his offensive and defensive balance and he will have a good chance next year to do something May couldn't. Win NPOY.
