    larry,

i bet when you go to day time hours and get on a regular breakfast, lunch, dinner, family type of lyfestile you will see a change in your sedentary. of course, i say this without any basis of knowledge on the subject of wieght maintenance. merely the belief that a somewhat normal-as in what's normal for a fair amount of the population-day to night existence would seem to improve your motivation and eating habits. though, i also believe that it is likely that you will find that the best times to activate will be before the kids rise or after bedtime and therefore motivation, like mine, will not be there. so i guess i should say eat a good breakfast, (against my better judgement) eat light at lunch, snack fruitfully in the mid and watch portions at dinner.

    your fiend,

    dave

    i think you're right, man.

when i worked days in charlotte, i found it much easier to stay fit. of course, that was with just one kid.

i'm hoping i can make the switch to days in 3 weeks.

I wish I had something of value to add here, but I don't. I've been fighting the fight since Feb. 1999. I' ll work out, eat right, the whole nine for several months, then back to being a slob for several months. then I'll get disgusted with myself and start over. When I start working out again, I realize how good I feel and try to hold on to that. Overall I'm better off than before it all began, and I'm starting to recognize the points where I begin my drop offs. It's all about building up steam. A little turns into a little more and that turns into a lot, and once you get going don't stop because it's harder than hell to get going again.

    "word" on the night shift

Working (instead of sleeping) at night throws your natural order out of balance. That kinda explains the lethargic, spacey feeling you constantly deal with while on that type of work schedule, been there, done that. Some dont seem to have as much trouble with it as others. The sooner you get off that shift the better and pills may only be a temporary solution. Sooner or later you'll have to face the real issues. Hang in there.

I wonder if that stuff really works? It's getting cooler, it's football season, and i am missing all those foods i associate with that stuff~ like ~ chili beans, homemade vegetable soup, big pot of pinto beans and cornbread and noshing out on nachos. And some pizza! i'm going to check those pills out! :D
