    Sadly, in too many Churches, scam artists have a field day. Say a couple of words about how God wants you to be wealthy with a mis-applied scripture verse and people follow them like idiots. And I say that as a very devout Christian.

    I think what happens is too many Christians forget Proverbs 28:20 - "A faithful man will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished." They see some dude promise them 25-40% returns and mix in a verse and they just lose their ever-loving minds. There is a show on CNBC called American Greed and they have had several shows on how Churches got scammed. Really sad actually!
