the browns wanted this guy and gave up the farm to get him....Roy Williams seems to be a straight up guy like Charles Rogers was last year.

Winslow will let agents do talking

    05/03/04

Mary Kay Cabot Plain Dealer Reporter

Kellen Winslow Jr. made no promises Sunday about being in training camp on time.

"My agents will handle that," he said. "I've got the playbook, so it doesn't matter."

Winslow's remarks were different than on draft day, when he said, "Look at last year's No. 6 pick and I'm in camp, that's the way I see it."

Immediately after that statement, Winslow's agent, Kevin Poston, set the record straight, saying that Winslow is no ordinary No. 6 pick and was No. 1 on a lot of team's draft boards. He said it's hard to set a value for a player who has the potential to be a superstar, like the Cavaliers' LeBron James.

"Nobody said I'm not going to be in camp on time, so it just depends," Winslow said. "It would [benefit me], but if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. I know the plays pretty much, so we'll see what happens."

Judging from the first minicamp - albeit with no pads - Poston might not be far off- base. Winslow was the highlight of the camp and looked like a veteran even though he's still learning the terminology.

His goal for this year? To try and beat Jeremy Shockey's numbers as a rookie. Shockey caught 74 passes for 894 yards and two touchdowns for the New York Giants. He also was named All-Pro and voted to the Pro Bowl.

"We have a little bet," Winslow said

You aren't alone Boo. All the Skins fans I know are overjoyed that the Skins weren't the dumbasses who took him.

I was thinking about this jackass the other day. Wonder how he feels about that "I'm a soldier" rant now. Maybe he can get a take on that from the new widow Tillman.

Winslow Jr is in for a rude awakening

Winslow comes off as one cocky douche bag. Once he finally takes the field on Sundays he is going to really learn a few important facts.

    #1 - He doesn't know shit yet
#2 - His agent does not have his best interest at heart
#3 - He isn't his ass kickin Dad, nor will he ever be with his current attitude

Damn I wish Pat Tillman was around to lay some of those "10 on the Rickter scale" hits on this asswipe!

He was one on some teams boards. Ironic that his "fall" to 6 could have had something to do w/ the Postons. I definitely think the Skins would have taken him at 5 had they not already leaned their lesson indirectly through the Arrington fiasco.

Be interesting the see if the Browns are initially willing to go higher to avoid some of the hassle.

Give me a break. Your boy fell to 6 that is 6 money. If he really believes that then make it a production based contract.. If he plays better than a 6th pick then he gets more, if he doesnt he gets less. For some reason I doubt that will flush.
