Good for him - I wish him luck, but am generally indifferent...he's not a special player, and having been signed this late, you gotta assume his chances aren't great, and the 6ers have decent depth and quality.

also who said Vince was supposed to be leaps and bounds between Jamison and Carter?? If I remember right they were even drafted back to back.

Furthermore Vince was stuck in a Toronto organization that was going nowhere. He go ZERO help. Notice once he was moved to New Jersey that the team went on a run to get in the playoffs.

Does the player not have anything to do with his own success or failure?

sure, and Vince is probably the reason Toronto won a lot of their games, but one person can only do so much. No NBA player won a championship on his own.

What I am saying is that Coach K has done very well with team players and although I'm a huge Duke fan, I know that they haven't been as successful in the NBA as they have been in college. I think that has changed a little over the past few years however and I was using Vince Carter of a way of saying that he underachieved at UNC compared to what he was expected to going into Chapel Hill. If anyone remembers he was suppose to be the next Jordan and his numbers were more like Daniel Ewing's than Jordan's. He was picked so high based on his potential and the flashiness he played with in college.
