    Doesn't matter who he was being recruited by at the time ( and dook wasn't that good at the time anyway).

    Comparing Popson to Shav is ridiculous.

    Nobody ever expected Popson to be THE BIG MAN on the team.

    Shav was getting the #1 NBA selection hype.

    Popson was considered the best big man in the country when he came out.

    Poop sheet is appropriate since it is obvious Brick knew poop about talent.

    I don't ever remember Popson being a big disappointment - no he never did much - but he did get better every year instead of worse - seemed to be a fairly reliable, steady big man that Dean always had two or three of on the team.

    But it also shows how much the internet and popularity of basketball has changed things.

    Kids like Randolph come in with much higher expectations and have thousands of bozos like us dissecting every bad pass, every stupid foul, every missed shot.

    If all this had been around then Popson probably would be getting the same treatment as the turd.
