that 1 more pitcher is where ramirez comes back in the picture. hopefully, he'll be back early august. he easily was pitching the best of anyone on the staff when he went on the DL with the sore shoulder. no damage to it, so hopefully he can pick back up where he left off. i like horacio. i like his makeup, i like his poise, and most of all i like the fact that righties are only hitting .224 off him this year, only .003 higher than lefties are hitting. that shows me that he was paying attention to glavine last year like the braves were hoping.

i'm more worried about greene than thomas as far as sticking around. thomas looks to be the real deal to me. if he falls in a slump, we always have the capable marrero to back him up. would i turn down listening to an offer for a big bat in left? no way. but i still say i would keep things as are for now and ride it out thru the trade deadline on july 31st. besides, we still have waivers until aug 31 where we could always get something done.

since the sox are my #2 team, i'll play gm here as well. i would DEFINITELY be looking for another arm. if not the unit, which would be fuckin awesome, i'd look for a solid #3 or #4 guy to plug into the end of the rotation. i'm still one of those that says lowe will be fine down the stretch, and i like wakefield just for what he's done with us, not to mention his bullpen work he can give us in the playoffs, but it would be nice to get arroyo out of there.

Can you imagine having Wakefield between Schil and the Big Unit. Good Lord. Arroyo hasn't been that God awful.

Dodgers looked at getting Delgado, but he refused to be traded. We need one more bat, i think our pitching is fine. Shawn Green seems to be working a bit out of his slump. Be nice to have one more bat, but maybe this will motivate Green to start hitting with power and quit dropping his back shoulder.

there is still a great chance that delgado will change his mind. he needs to turn it around bigtime or he ain't gettin paid what he will be wantin come this off-season. he might realize a change of scenery could jumpstart that.

If I were the GM for the Dodgers, Angels, Yankees, Astros, White Sox, and Phillies, I'd look out at the wall pads and say, "G'damn those look nice! Cut a check to BigMark and Captain Morgan."
