I meant judging by his lousy performance yesterday if he came out this year I wouldn't want to draft him after that.
Of course I wasn't implying that he wouldn't be drafted Bear.

If Manning goes undrafted, Ragone will have to go to Siberia.

Eli hurt his arm vs LSU. Ole Miss doesn't have any players. If I were Eli, I'd come out, because they aren't getting the players around him.

    Cool.

Hell, we get the top spot, you can engrave Leftwitch as our QB for the next few years.

Cincy just can't seem to pull it off. I thought they were gonna beat Pittsburgh.

So what - It's us, Bears, Lions, Texans. 3-8.

    WOW. Do we suck.

Anybody listen to Hurney on the wrap up show? I like the guy. He knows we have Offensive problems. He knows and admits the only real asset on this team is D-line and LB. He knows we have too many needs to address only in the draft.

Re: Re: If we lose the rest of our games....

yes, you've gone on record as saying so a good number of times before today.

SO why? Why do you feel that Randy Fasani should be the only young QB on this team? What within reason tells you we don't need a young quarterback? Or should I go with Piper's suggestion at the time, that I don't want to know?

    ----
blah. Anyway, big change from last year eh? Got more people talking draft this early than last year...must be the practice.

First thing - no offense PantherPaul and Dukey but there are no trades to be made. There are no miracle SD - Arizona trades or Dallas - Minnesota trades to be had. We're going to have to make do with what we have, and that's the way I plan on talking it up until

I agree that making a trade if your guy isn't there is the preferred way to go, but hell, this team and every team in the league checks on the trade availability of nearly every one of their picks in the first day...half of the ones where you hear the GM exasperated, acting like he spent the whole night praying that Player X was still going to be there, you can bet that pick was shopped.

In other words, till it actually happens I wouldn't put too much worry into it. Certainly the idea of getting an extra 2nd and an extra 3rd is great stuff, and that's why it rarely happens.

I guess out of reaction this team will take a QB first if it's this high. We'll be passing over some damn good receivers, but it's a theme. By the second, we'll have to finally draft one, though, so analysts will go on and on about the pairing of these two magical rookies and all that bullshit, partly because some analysts get tunnel vision and see a pairing like that as genius since the blinders don't let them see the rest of the team in as much brilliance for another few days.

    And we're already this predictable.
It wouldn't be the way I'd go, I'd go receiver first. We don't want to develop a guy in 2003, and to my opinion, I guess we shouldn't put a guy out there. To me, part way through the second year's when you pull the trigger after limited time before that. So unless Carson Palmer really makes you tingle and drool, I don't think it'd be right to draft him just because he's a player at a need position. That works with ends and receivers, that doesn't work with QBs. IMO, the ability to draw from a pool of guys who would fit what you want is much higher in the second, and the talent level is marginally less. I had a similar feeling about the WR class until Berrian, Evans, and Washington, three of the top ten guys, went down. They'd all have been above Jacobs, Gage, Lloyd, etc.
