FSU and Miami don't whack each other. Even when one of the two is having a down year, they play each other close. Since niether team is having a down year, the game should be a real good one.

Miami is down, we just don't know it yet. At least down by their standards. But I'll tell you why I think FSU will win this game. If I'm wrong - just add it to the long list of losers I've already posted this year. :)

Miami just flat out waxed their ass in Doak two years ago. It wasn't even close. Why? Miami could run, FSU couldn't run and FSU had a bunch of kids playing D against a mature Miami team that won the national title.

Last year, Miami thought all they had to do was show up in the Orange Bowl and FSU would roll over and play dead. Instead, that Jones kid for FSU went berzerk. Miami should've lost that game. Why? Miami has not been able to stop teams that run right at them for two years now. Even middle Big East teams run on the Canes nowadays.

This year those two previous games are going to work in FSU's favor as the kids that were abused on D in '01 and the running game that Miami couldn't stop in' 02 will combine to punch the Canes in the mouth. Especially if the Canes mess around early on like last year (and like they've done in most games against lesser foes the last two years).

FSU will run, Miami will not and the FSU D will abuse Brock Berlin - who doesn't know he even has another receiver outside of the Winslow kid. The sad thing is that I'd rather have Miami win because that would help the Hokies if we could beat Miami ourselves down the road. I have to admit that do share Larry's concern about Rix......but I don't see it happening for Miami at FSU this year. Payback is a bitch.

I guess I just made my first pick this week.

    Florida State (-7 now !) :D

You can't analyize emotion and it really depends on momentum to a great deal. In Doak Cambell there will be few maimi fans so the noise'll get em more than the team. Still look for miami to put on a damn good show if not win. Don't go by West Va they were looking for a night off. Miami will show with everything they've got.

Sure you can - although I sure will look like a dumbass if I get it wrong. But college football is all about emotion. Being on the right side of "who's gonna show up" is a huge part of betting on kids.

I agree with you that Miami was looking ahead against WVU, by the way. I just don't think it will matter if/when the "real" Miami shows up this weekend.

There's no question in my mind that Miami will come out with a huge chip on their shoulders. I can't recall the last time they were underdogs in a game, and I'm sure that all the talk this week about how the Noles are the better team and will beat them has them fired up.

Miami is by far the best team that Florida State has faced so far this season. They match up well against them in most areas. I don't think that the Canes rush defense is as vulnerable as you might believe.

The key to the game will be which team gets a big play. If Miami gets a special teams or defensive score, they win. If Florida State gets one of either, they win. But either way, the game will be very close.

We should invite the folks over from NOTD for lessons. This is the best exchange I've had here in a while. :)

I dunno we'll see. Miami has a history of not showing what they got and just doing enough to win. I realize a lot of people will think that an oulandish statement, but it is true, a team can't gameplan for something that is not on film. Sat should be interesting.
