i know this isn't the most reliable source, but the guy that cuts my hair also cuts someone's hair in the panthers organization. The barber is a pretty stand up guy, so i believe him. Well, anyways, he said the panther's guy said foster's injury was most likely career ending.

Now, he might be off, but a bone bruise that ends your season is kinda wierd.

Ok my 2 cents. It all boild down to which QB's come out and where we fall in the final draft order. The only can't miss QB IMO is the Marshall QB. We need more talent at WR as I view Moose as the only viable WR we have. The rest are no better than # 3 WR's at best. Can anyone remember when Issac Byrd made a catch last? Obviously if we can get Leftwich (sp) go there otherwise go WR (as where we draft we could get the best of the WR's), then go QB in second rd (Palmer or Kentuckys robust QB) and then a OL tackle as Chris Terry is a FA after this year. Even if we resign him are we still happy with him and his off field problems and numerous holding calls? 4th round? Cornerback. I am not as eager to go after a TE. Let Walls go and keep Wiggins and Mangum. Denver has had great success in drafting runningbacks late why not us?

when your team sucks this bad

There are a lot of ways to go about this shit. Fox apparently doesn't want a whole lot to do with developing a QB, and looking at how stubborn he's been so far, he'll either draft a guy and put him at the end of the bench or not at all. WR can go either way as well. Hell, any of them could. It's hard to say where this team "needs" youth because there's plenty of youth everywhere except QB and WR, where we'd need immediate impact.

So I'd guess we'll do midlevel FAs and draft picks as well.

    RB - 5th round IMO.

maybe we should title a new thread: "which standout college players do you most want to see flop or have their career end due to injury?"

those will most likely be your next panthers...

Meat, I'm not arguing that an upgrade at corner is a need. My point is that with all the gaping deep holes on offense, it isn't a big enough need to spend a 4th rounder or higher pick on.

I'm beginning to think we'll trade down in the first, pick up an additional 3rd, and bring in a bunch of mid-level FA's to start plugging holes.

About our WR corps, at this point I'm all for tossing the lot of them like we did our corners last year and starting over. Cut/trade Moose and Byrd, and bust Stevie Wonder back to KR. Draft a high WR and sign a FA and start over. It worked out okay with our CB's.

Does anyone know of a site that tracks drops for WR's?

Exactly. Just got too many holes to fill.

Of course Fox doesn't want to develop a young QB. He doesn't have anyone on staff to do it! And you know, I think I could be okay with that. We'll never have an elite QB with that philosophy, but I don't believe we need one to win under Fox. We just need a Dilfer/Peete type who's good in the locker room, doesn't make mistakes, and can manage a game reasonably well. Really, that's all. We don't need Brett Favre, or even Michael Vick. Peete will do nicely once we can get a line in front of him that can remember where the LOS is and the snap count for more than 3 seconds, and give him someone to throw to who can actually catch and not pull a hamstring every time the wind blows.

In that case, sucks to be talking about rookie QBs for next year if we'll never take one. We'll save the young QB for the next regime :p

Bouman has looked pretty good too.

  9. Warner may be untradeable. The only reason Bledsoe was able to be traded was his signing bonus wasn't all paid at once, they paid a certain amounts of it every so many years. Given the FA the Rams have not resigned, I'm willing to be they don't have the cap room to trade him. He's better suited for the WCO than Henning's run/play action/screen pass offense anyways...IMO

Oh, come on now, Snoil, any quarterback should be able to handoff on a draw on 3rd and long, shouldn't he? :wink2:
