I'd say we qualify as 'desperate'

NFL | Interested In Plummer? - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
11:18 PT: Len Pasquarelli reports of ESPN.com reports there are at least two teams, both unnamed, that may pursue Arizona Cardinals QB Jake Plummer when he becomes a free agent after the 2002 season. Both teams are said to be "desperate" for help at QB.

    Plummer:

    1. 2nd worse year of his career from a QB rating perspective.
    2. On pace to set a personal best (worse) interceptions, should end up with 21 plus.
    3. Ranks 16th in the NFL (rating) - Kerry Collins is around 5th.
    4. In 6 seasons he has had 4, counting this year, and one 15 for 15 year... seasons in which he threw more ints than TDs...

Don't really have anything against ole Jake, might be time he consider a backup role somewhere... he does not appear to be getting better.

If we DO end up signing Plummer (Please Jesus, NO!) it better be to a very short bargain-basement type jobbie with lots o’ key incentives to put a real fire under his ass. Maybe he’s just been too fat (overpaid) for too long and an incentive based contract would “inspire” him to finally reach some of that potential everyone has been waiting for.)

One decent year, and he’s lived off that forever.

I suppose it’d be ok if we coupled him with a pick at a low salary. I find it hard to believe anyone is going to give him starter money

plummer has had a decent pass-blocking o-line this year, and a solid runningback in jones and a reciever in boston. i dont think he deserves starter $$$- but i'd love to sign him. cut weinke and dont resign peete, sign jake and draft a rookie.

Given the heavy buzz that Plummer WILL most likely be out we need to really start rootin' for Zona. I was fist-pumpin' happy to see that they pulled out the win yesterday. I know they have a tough remaining schedule but maybe Plummer will be selling himself and lead them to another win or two on his way out the door.

@StL - The Rams are looking pretty damn beatable without Bulger in there.
SF - The Niners got b'otch slapped by the Boys for a good portion of that game.
@Den - In Plummers last game as a Card he passes for 400 yds and 4 TDs! Okay, I know that won't be happening.)

They could still go 7-9 and If we only won 1 more then we would probably have our pick of anyone but Palmer or Leftwich and . . .

    hell, nevermind (
