not really. there is a difference between having an opinion and being judgemental. the point of music is for the masses to enjoy.

i thought Must love Dogs was garbage but there are people who enjoy it, peoples taste which differs from mine. seems as a creator you would be able to accept the value of it as a succesful work

As an "artist", I'd imagine there'd be more respect for being a tame hip-hop act doing their own thing than hiring some white girl, going pop, and becoming a dance act. I'm more than fine with being judgemental and there's absolutely no reason not to do so. I like hip-hop from back in the day, and real hip hop from today that's not all about bling and rims and hoes. BEP is watered down white people rap.

 

the point of music is three fold a) self expression, b) enjoyment by the masses, c) convey history
