Yes other than FT's, FT%, REBs and ASTS the stats were very close, well that and total fouls.

Let's see here, dook missed what 11 fts, so one would think the defending team would get most of those rebs. So since I am not sure of the exact stat on who got the reb after dook missed a ft, lets give 2 of those to dook. So take away the 9-2 advantage MD had there that makes the Reb margin a heck of a lot closer and pretty much a non-factor in the game as scoring goes.

So just how did MD play so well if the only thing they did well was out-rebound dook???

That's fine. But, if you are winning by 30 and you put your scrubs in with 5 minutes left, what do you call it? A close game? Let carolina beat duke by 30 but lose all the stats, which by the way mean NOTHING if you lose, and see what you say.

To answer larry's stuff, from what i saw duke got scared when they were down. Took bad shots. Granted maryland was playing great D, but shooting with 20 seconds on the shot clock with somone in your face isn't smart. Ball movement wasn't there. They passed to casey sanders way too much. I honestly think duke was intimidated. And when they started losing, they forgot how to play ball. Reddick wasn't there to bail them out or get them hot.

yeah well, don't forget about the second half stats. 2 of 12 from the 3 point line and 33% from the field. Maryland outshot them 46% to 42% for the game, but i would imagine that during the second half where they had their huge runs, the margin was alot greater.

And for rebounding the be a huge key, that usually means one team dominated the other on offensive rebounds, MD only had a 10-9 advantage there, so for rebounding the make the difference in this game or even be a major part of it, I just don't see how.

Hell it's not all bad for dook, Jones played well and I would still love to have Reddick on our team even after todays game.

i do. When duke actually shot the ball, they were one and out. 8 offensive rebounds could mean 16 points and 4 mintues off the game clock. That's important if you ask me. Regardlees, i think sly meant that if duke could rebound better, this game would have been closer and i agree. But, duke lost and it wasn't close. End of story.

wydd , I would agree with that being a huge advantage if dook didn't have any. But it was only 10-9 so that is pretty much an even stat, unless a team isn't making shots, which is an entirely different factor.
