I need help

    I am a 45 year old divorced woman that would like more imformation on becoming a catholic. Can someone that is divorced become a catholic??? I am not in any church or have I ever but would very much like to. My fathers family are all catholic,& would like to know more.... Can anyone help me????

    Divorce won't be a problem. You will have to go through a RCIA class at your local parish. It usually lasts about a year.

    I'd suggest attending a few masses in different parishes to see which one you feel comfortable with. Then ask the priest how to become a Catholic and see what he says.

    Why Catholic? Is it only because you have family that is Catholic? I would suggest checking out other denominations such as Baptist, Methodist, or Presbyterian.

    I think you'd need an official annulment before you could remarry, but not to join the church, though I'm not positive. I'm in the process of getting right with the Catholic church and attending St Thomas Aquinas in the University area. I can give you an email address of priests there who have been very helpful to me so far and could probably point you in the right direction.

    In order to worship at any catholic Church, I think that pretty much the only thing that you need to do is to be baptized and then to get confirmed.
