    1. Cincinnati Bengals - Carson Palmer QB USC
Reports are coming from everywhere that the Bengals would like to trade out of this pick because they don't want to risk drafting another 1st round quarterback bust. That said, whatever head coach is signed will want his choice at quarterback, and I'm betting he'd want Palmer over Kitna and company...

    2. Detroit Lions - Charles Rogers WR Michigan State*
This seems like the best fit for both player and team of any potential pick in the draft. Rogers is the #1 talent on my board and would provide Harrington with a top flight weapon. still say they take MaGahee

    3. Houston Texans - Jordan Gross OT Utah
Houston would like to add an offensive lineman of Gross' ability, but will not reach for him. Thus, I would expect the club to strongly look at trading down slightly. If left here, the team might throw a bit of a curveball and go for one of the two dominating defensive line prospects, Kennedy or Suggs. could they still get gross at 9?

    4. Chicago Bears - Jimmy Kennedy DT Penn State
While I still believe that GM Jerry Angelou is posturing with his recent claims of not considering a quarterback with his 1st round pick, I also feel that he will have trouble letting a younger, more talented version of his own starting DTs slide by. Kennedy has great potential and some feel Leftwich will slide a bit. might they look to a B. Griese?

    5. Dallas Cowboys - Willis McGahee RB Miami**
With Parcells now in the fold, the development of a rushing attack is a must. Whether the club decides to stick with Emmitt Smith for another season or not, a running back will likely be among Dallas' first picks. McGahee has it all. probably, if he's still here. if not, he knows the trenches s where the game is won and he'll go OL

    6. Arizona Cardinals - Terrell Suggs DE Arizona State*
The Cardinals have plenty of decisions to make this off-season, especially on offense where their two most recognizable names - Jake Plummer and David Boston - are free agents. That said, for this team to improve, it needs to address its defensive line. Suggs would give the team the pass rusher they've lacked since Simeon Rice left and would be a nice PR move, as well. seems to be a pretty popular pick for them, but what do they do for a QB? another team in the FA market?

    7. Minnesota Vikings - Terence Newman CB Kansas State
Newman deserves to be a top five pick, but with teams looking at specific positions early on, he could slide into the Vikings' lap. Minnesota would be elated to find Newman still on the board and would waste little time in selecting him.

    8. Jacksonville Jaguars - E.J. Henderson LB Maryland
The Jags have plenty of needs, most notably a new head coach and help at wide receiver. That said, their linebacking corps has potential on the outside with Slaughter and Ayodele, but are without a stud in the middle. The team is expected to look for a receiver here, but Henderson would provide the more immediate help. another team in need of QB

    9. Carolina Panthers - Byron Leftwich QB Marshall
Leftwich could slide in this draft amid concerns over his footwork and lack of top athleticism and conditioning. If he does, some team is going to get lucky. The Panthers would like to find a top QB here and would almost surely jump at Palmer, Leftwich, or Manning* if here. do we actually get our saviour despite not forfeiting all our games? could this be a pipedream?

Agree it will be Palmer just not to the Bengals, They trade down
    maybe with the panthers???

    Agree - perfect fit.

#3 is too high for Gross as value and they should get Boselli back, Capers is a defensive guy. I'd go with a DT here.

I don't see any way they pass on Leftwich

PR nightmare if "Tuna" starts his regime by cutting Emmitt but he won't care so i'm not sure what happens there, back to the point I see them going RB just not in the first and i don't think McGahee comes out. I'd say they go with CB Newman to upgrade all the bad CB decisions campo made.

    No doubt about it.

    7. Minnesota Vikings - Terence Newman CB Kansas State

Wanted Simms last year over Mckinnie so having a top 5 DT fall into their lap is too much to resist.

So many needs so few picks. They need a lot a MLB is one of their needs so i'll go along with your pick.

    9. Carolina Panthers - Byron Leftwich QB Marshall

Pipe dream? probably. I would say we either trade up for Palmer (which I doubt) or take which ever WR bust up the boards during the combine, lets call him Andre johnson for now, those their are still some questions whether he comes out.

God yes. Gross is nowhere near Pace, much less Davis or Williams.

As to whether or not we'd trade there, I dunno.

Chicago getting Griese? Interesting. They could certainly do so. Jauron won't want to start a rook QB with an already limping team. DT is very interesting there - and they really don't need RB or WR.

Jacksonville being ahead of us really does change things now that Coughlin's gone. Garrard's there, is that enough to keep a QB from being here? Chances are if there's a change, I'd see them get a guy in there to start short term.

Marvin Lewis interviewed for the Bengals job. My guess is he'd go defense.

I don't know about Chicago taking a DT though, I thought they would go QB. If Palmer gets past Chicago, he's a Panther.

I agree with you on the fact that if Lewis goes to Cinci, he goes defense, doing his damndest to trade down and acquire more picks in the process.

Chicago picking a DT actually makes sense; with this logic, they go FA QB, put Jimmy Kennedy alongside Ted Washington, combine with a stud linebacking corp, and, Voila!! you have the Baltimore Ravens circa 2000.

That's an ungodly reach for Gross, even at 9. No way. He's just doing that because their line sucks so. They could find value in round 2 for a Right Tackle and get TB back.

No corner goes top 5 either.

I like EJ Henderson a lot, and that would improve their run D. Slaughter's not a bad Mike though, but he could play any spot if they go EJ. Still think they'd go for a reciever or a QB, even with keeping Brunnell. Andre Johnson's probably their target.

    re

Don't be suprised to see Dallas give away their number one pick to the Broncos for Griese. That would be a good one.

Also Larry Johnson will be coming out of Penn State. Another good running back that will be up for grabs.

Parcells won't give up a top 5 pick for Griese. That would be stupid, as he could easily just be cut. Even if not, I'm thinking Parcells goes after a defensive lineman in the draft.

Yep, Wp28 is right on with all those comments. I agree completely.

How bout the Panthers signing Stephen Davis. Signing Boston or Price or Coles. Drafting Palmer. And bringing in Kordell cheap. We could give up some draft picks and get up to #1 in that scenerio. If we sign a RB and WR early in FA - I would go ahead and make the deal for the #1 pick.

I'd love to have Boston in here, but not with Muhammed... problem is Muhammed and Boston are similar recievers... more of a possession reciever... now Price or Coles add a little more speed and can stretch the field... people play shallow you throw a deep pass to a speedier reciever... ppl play deep you throw shorter passes to the possession guy... every team needs at LEAST one each
