For whatever reason, I hope I am wrong, I don't feel like Iti is gonna be the stud we need. It seems like there is so much anticipation of what he can do defesively that it will be hard for him to live up to it. There are so many guys who we have seen come into ours and other programs, that were supposed to be saviors, that never pan out. In fact, our best players in school history were ACC rejects (Jobey, Demarco, etc) I truly hope he is the next Alonzo Mourning, but right now I have my doubts. Charles Hayward was about #52 out of the top 100 coming in, and there is no doubt that by his senior year he could be good, but as a frosh, he was very raw. I hope Iti is further along than Hayward was.

Without a bonafide point gaurd, I have my doubts.

Have you two been drinking out of my bottle? As I've stated before, no player is as good as his press clippings. And big guys for the most part never are truly dominating until they are 21-22 years old if not later.

While I agree with you for the most part - Carmello Anthony certainly lived up to his.

Cmon, man. What's next?? Are you going to tell me that.........

    - Tony Mandarich wasn't given a fair chance in the NFL???

    - Drew Henson deserves to be in the Yankees lineup, right now ???

    - Matt Doherty was just misunderstood at Carolina ???

You gotta believe :) :) :) :) :) I guess, by your logic, I should wait a little bit, before I call the Athletic Dept. to sell them an "Iti retired jersey" banner. How 'bout I wait until the final buzzer of the George Washington game?

now I'll take off the funny colored glasses.

Seriously, until the "games that count" it is all idle speculation/hype from anyone. Certain people may not like to admit it, but in sports you really don't know how good someone is until AFTER the fact.

It's off the subject, but last week in the Packers-Seahawks game, Seattle made a 50+ yard FG at the end of the half. The stupid talking heads on Fox could do nothing but tell me how Holmgren's team had just made a key play and ripped the momentum away from Green Bay.................needless to say, Seattle didn't score in the 2nd half and the Packers won by 22.

I agree Norman. The closest thing Metro might have said about Iti dominating was probably something like this: "If he comes in and averages a double-double, that would be great!"

Fever, do you enjoy chasing your tail that much? I can't wait to see your next batch of shameful responses.

We're still waiting for Metro's quotes about Iti being the greatest. These aren't WMDs, they shouldn't be so hard to find.

metro wouldn't have been that "he's the greatest." I know of a few others that would say that though.

And in this case, I hope they are correct.
