"The Yankees or their fans? Should we take a vote?"

I do believe the Yankees fans aren't tired of the team doing well though. You Brave fans can't even make it out to your own games whenthe team is doing good. That is sad from a fans point of view!

Hey, I'm in New York. It's tough to make it down there for the home games. I do go to almost every Brave game up here in New York. Do I get any points for that?
As for defending the fans in Brave Atlanta, keep in mind that the population in Atlanta is not as big as NY. I think It's easy to say that the population in NY is more than twice the size of Atlanta. It's not as easy to fill those seats. Plus, the Yankees have been up here alot longer than the Braves have been in Atlanta. There's more history. Basically, I'm just making excuses, but they sound good, don't they?

um not really. I remeber not to long ago Atlanta would fill those seats easily. But their fans have gotten bored with constent "almost" success. If I am not mistaken they were having difficulties filling the seats for playoff games.

As far as twice the population, that is why NY has 2 teams instead of one.

Hey, I tried. I guess I'm way too out of touch with what goes on down in Atlanta.

yes it is a bad thing.

the yankees are americas team. they have more championships and pennants than anyone else. they probably have more hall of famers than any other team and they always manage to whip braves ass.

Last time I went to a Yankees game it was a Saturday afternoon non-sell out in the middle of the World Series runs.

Last time I went to a Braves game it was a Saturday night non-sellout in the new park.

Isolated incidents, sure, but really just a reflection of baseball's popularity at the time. It still hasn't recovered from the strike or the results of the money restructuring.

So you're saying that everybody should be a fan of the winningest team only? Are you one of those bandwagon fans?? Only rooting for the winning team? That's pretty sad.
I've stuck with the Braves through the bad as well as the good. I've seen Biff Pocoroba play almost as many times as I've seen Marcus Giles. Win or lose, I'll always be a Brave fan.
BTW, before you get so excited about the Yankees history, take a real good look and see how many pennants and players they've purchased over the years. When you really look at the history of baseball, you'll see that the Yankees shouldn't be so proud.

Although we do have 2 teams up here, it really doesn't feel that way. There isn't a real big rivalry up here between the Yanks & Mets. It's not like the rivalry between the Rangers & Isles where you're a fan of one or the other and there is no inbetween. We call the fencesitters Devil fans. Aside from the real hardcore Met or Yankee fans you'd find most people saying that the just root for NY teams in general and flock to whoever is winning. If the Yanks & Mets were in the same league, it would be a different story.
