I'll admit that the NL East is not the strongest division, but it certainly isn't the weakest. The NL East is the only division right now that has 4 teams over .500 and the Mets are far from the worst last place team out there. Imagine how fortunate the Yanks are to have the Devil Rays to beat up on every year.
The Braves playoff losses have very little to do with their division. I think it has more to do with the fact that Bobby Cox is terrible when it comes to managing a playoff series.
The Braves are only 1 starter and a few relievers away from having the potential to go all the way.

Hey.... You should be thanking the Mets for keeping Glavine off your team. Don't forget how close the Phils were to signing him. As a Brave fan, I thank them everytime he starts... Especially against us.

The Phils a team batting around .250 as a team cannot even beat the lowly Mets. They just lost again to maybe the worst team in baseball at this particular time. And this is the Braves main competition in the NL East.

Watch those 4 teams chasing the Braves in the NL East in the second half and then tell me how strong they are. Those four teams are not that great. There really are not that many good teams in the NL.

The Yankees who have struggled this year against many teams in the AL did not have much trouble in interleague play.Just the best record in baseball in interleague play this year.

did you miss the post about head to head divisional records? how you gonna say that and contradict the stats. if thats the case, then your yankees plea holds no water.

Dude. You kill me. For starters, I hate to bring the Mets back into this, but you do realize that when you throw out interleague numbers, that 6 of the Yanks wins came against the Mets??? You remember them... They're the ones you singled out as the weakest team in their division. Why is it that you can beat the Braves up for for their wins against the Mets, but you're so proud of the Yanks wins against them? take the Met games out and the Yanks are 7-5 against the NL.
Secondly, you shouldn't be so excited about the Yanks record. Keep in mind that they play in what is statistically the third weakest division in the league.
Thirdly, keep in mind that they have the convenience of beating up on Detroit & Tampa 25 times this season. Just for the record, they are the 2 weakest teams in MLB. Wanna guess how many games the Braves get to play against the 2 weakest teams in the game??? ZERO.
Lastly, they also get to play several series with the AL central, which is statistically the weakest division in MLB. The Yanks are already 14-3 against the AL Central.
All of this combined with the fact that they have the highest payroll in baseball shows that if the Yanks should easily have the best record in baseball... But they don't. Maybe the Yanks are a little weaker than you think......Can't wait to see who they buy before the trade deadline....

William89.....Check the Braves schedule.Three games this year against Tampa Bay at Tropicana Field on June 27th-29th.

Maybe the Braves are for real this year.I think that every year as they roll over their division opponents.I think are the Braves that good of a team or is that division that weak. Then the playoffs begin and I get the same answer every year.

Maybe I am wrong this year.Maybe that division is loaded this year and the Braves are the best in baseball.I guess I will find out when the playoffs start.

BTW...when the Yanks played the Mets, the Mets were pretty bad I agree, but nowhere near as bad as they are now since they unloaded 3 more key players.Right now in the season the Mets may well be the worst team in the majors. At this point I would much rather play the Mets than Tampa Bay.

OOOOPS! Sorry about that. I guess I missed that series.

The Mets definitely took a hit with the loss of Burnitz. I'm not too worried about the others. If Floyd plays out the season and Piazza returns, they'll still be fun to watch. They'll still suck, but at least they'll be fun. Duncan, Phillips, Reyes, Wilson & Wigginton give 110% every night. It's good to see a team with heart. I'm a season ticket holder, and I love the moves they're making. I hope they can trade off some more dead weight for some potential worthwhile prospects. They need to rebuild in a big way.

The Braves are a different story (I'm a Brave fan). I think the Braves are great during the season, but unless they find a dominant starter, I don't think they'll win it all. Every pitcher in the rotation is beatable. It's scary heading into playoffs counting on your bats. They have enough of an obstacle already in Bobby Cox. He's awesome when it comes to judging talent and handling the players, but he's awful when it comes to managing a series.
