Hurricane rumor - Paul Kariya

    In an interview today, John Forslund indicated he thought the Hurricanes were looking to sign another forward/scorer and the likely target was Paul Kariya. Kariya's stats are here:

    This would be an exciting move by the Hurricanes.

    ESPN reported that Kariya has talked to the Oilers but they may not have room under the cap(ironical). The only other teams mentioned were the Kings and ...one other(Sharks I think)

    Today's Raleigh paper (newsobserver.com) said that the Canes only have about $1.7 million left in the budget to sign another player or players. That isn't enough to get Kariya.


    The article mentioned signing Ladd or another prospect in the system and perhaps Glen Wesley.
