    Prediction:

    Hurney, in a suit that doesn't fit, flanked by JR and that mannequin Danny Morrison.

    Hurney will make a generic statement about "how the Panthers will proceed" and "go through the process" during the lockout lift.

    Then, after a long pause, Hurney will run into the press area and tackle Scott Fowler, while Morrison tries to break it up. JR, meanwhile, will sit and stare at the news-model that he hit on a few months ago, all while trying to figure out how to get out of his gambling debt.

    You see, our owner, who still lives in the 1950's, sees these random pressers as a way to "reach out" to the fan base. The first one, earlier this year before the Rivera hire, was a disaster.

    Hurney's actually pretty insightful, but I have extremely low expectations for this one.

    This is a hunk of shit. Seriously--it's almost a showcase effort by management to remind the rest of the league: "Hey, ya know, we have this #1 pick...just in case you didn't know, and might want it".

    Problem is: nobody fucking wants it.

    If they could auction off that pick for a upper half(say, top 17) rd 1 pick plus a pick(s) from the highest bidder I wonder what they could get.
    Would anyone here be happy with #10 and #41, or #17 and #33 for instance?
    If I were you guys I would be thrilled with any top 10 and any round two pick, just to forgo the contract reaming that you're going to receive for years and years and years to come.
