I've heard WebOS is actually not bad. As in, it's further along than Android, given that everyone's trying to port 2.2, 2.3 Android instead of 3.
What it needs is an Android emulator so you can have real apps.

I found my order # in their queue finally, as opposed to just being able to access by my order #. So, in up to 6-8 weeks I may have this fucking thing. If not I might buy a 7" Samsung or something else smaller with an SD slot and maybe HDMI out.

More interesting info (I guess) - the stock chip is 1.5ghz instead of 1.2 so overclocking is easy and safe. It'll go to 1.75 apparently. I've seen benchmark tests that suggest that the 1.2 is the optimal setting for this tab for power, though, and that lower settings diminish results. At any rate snce it's now "discontinued" they've opened it up so you can access the developer/admin type portion of the machine, get rid of some things that they say slows it down, etc.

Anyone interested in getting one, they're possibly producing more, or ebay is about $210/260.

I'd like one and had I caught it at th $50 price I'd have bought it on the psot, but it'll need to get back to at least $100 before I make a run at one.

only Staples had them for $49.

Well, I either get one or don't, based on my HP order. I'm sure more will be released at some point but I won't be chasing it. And at those prices on ebay I can just go get something not discontinued.

Are you talking about the Touchpad? I got one two weeks ago. Not impressed... but then again, it cost $99. I sure as hell wouldn't spend $500-600 on a tablet- including an iPad. Getting things done on a tablet is a PITA.

As for the Touchpad, WebOS is buggy as hell, there are no apps and it's slow.

I can't wait for Android to port this thing.

you probably haven't done any of the mods. I think it runs more than fine. I think it's locked up twice, my ipod does that about once a week too.

It's pretty neat for what it is, another internet device. Much more than "it played my video" or "I put a bunch of porn on it" is asking more than tablets can do.
