these first few days can be really rough.

the worst thing i've done so far is eat when i get home. nothing bad -- just potato soup and a sandwich -- but i want to cut it out.

i get home from work at about 1:30 a.m. and go to bed at about 3.

i'm going to start eating cereal in the morning. i'm not a breakfast person, but the conventional wisdom is that eating early starts your metabolism up.

drinking only water and a glass of skim milk each day.

    how's everyone doing?

can any of the dieters offer any support for what it's like after you get past the first week or two?

My diet is going well, my exersice is not where it should be only once in 4 days... it will take that to complete the deal...

Going great. I did Atkins for 2 1/2 weeks before I went on vacation, when I fell off the wagon. I started right back up again when I got home, and feel really good.

After the first week to 10 days of dieting I felt really energetic. I drank tons of water to keep headaches at bay, and I am not nearly as tired as I was when I was eating sugary foods.

It's become almost second nature to me now the way I eat. I no longer crave sugar, and for me that's a BIG thing :)

    I suck. :(

I've been working late all week and when I do that, my diet regimen goes right out the window. Hopefully, I'll be able to gain some ground starting this weekend.

I'll be your Sweet & Low substitute. :p Exercise hasn't been fun this week but I'm back at the hospital with the old folks doing it.

I'm doing ok. I was starving all day yesterday so I ate what I wanted but small portions.

Didn't get to walk at lunch today though. :(

think about switching it around. don't set yourself up to fail by attatching poor diet to your working late.

remember, it's your decision as to what you put in your mouth.

if you know you're going to be working late, make the decision ahead of time to bring a more healthy snack/meal along.

i'm going to start the exercise next week. i didn't want to go balls-to-the-walls this first week and wear myself out. i'm changing my diet this week and, starting monday, beginning walking again.

Yep, you're absolutely right. And I know that when I get stressed out and tired, my discipline takes a big hit. Food is one of my weakest areas (obviously). When I don't get to bed early, I can't motivate myself to get to the gym at 0400, which is the only time I have to go.

But it's all about decisions, and I'm the one who has to live with the consequences of the decisions I make. :)
