Howard the #2 corner

CORNERBACK REGGIE HOWARD

He continues to excel in practice and has worked his way onto the first team, joining fellow corner Terry Cousin and supplanting Jenkins. Cousin had two nice deflections in the afternoon practice.

 

This is the only position that REALLY concerns me. With a host of nicklebacks battling for roster spots, I expect there will be planty of jockeying for position.
I have to rout for Howard though, being undrafted and all. He has shown improvement every year.

It's a great opportunity for him to step up.

 

yep. Makes hope that Howard will be a good nickel once we go out and get another starter. I just think that Cousin should be, at best, our 2nd best corner.

 

Should be, but fact is, he's our #1 right now. Until we sign someone better (is there anyone left that fits that description?) or Wesley steps up. I just don't see Jenkins or Howard as any better than a nickle and a temp started.

 

Kenny Wright was released by the Vikes yesterday, has starting experience maybe a bit better then Jenkins and even with Cousins. Not sure if thats what we would want for a year. but I would feel a little better with Cousins/Wright - Howard (nickle) till Wesley is ready or we draft another CB next year.

 

Wright is another Hitchcock, IMO. He gambles alot and gets burned for doing it. He does however collect on his gambles from time to time, still, I would prefer someone with a little more disipline as a play develops.

 

Sign him and give him a shot. Sounds like he'd be better to have in camp than a Franklin, Harper or even a Jenkins from what I've been hearing.
