That's what I was thinking too.

Yep. I don't think it would be good for Williams to carry 30 times a game.

I am not so sure that Foster can handle 20 carries per game and stay healthy. The only season he made it through was when we had Stephen Davis carrying 30 times per game and Foster got mixed in towards the end of the season and in the playoffs.

    Emmitt Smith's Rookie/Sophmore numbers

Year G/GS Att Yards Avg Lg TD 20+
    1990 16/15 241 937 3.9 48 11 4
    1991 16/16 365 1563 4.3 75 12 7

William would have to jump to Emmitt's second year numbers before, I believe, the Panthers would cut Foster in 2007. With William splitting time with Foster I just don't see it. Not this year; not against the teams we'll be facing this season.

Uh ... no. If they want to give Williams even a majority of the carries in the following season, they'll let Foster go. You don't pay $5 million for a backup running back.

Yep. And the irony is, now Foster finds himself in the same shoes as Davis was when Foster was drafted. Younger guy coming in, with hopes to take his job.

I read somewhere that his family call his "two" and his old coach used to call him "deuce"

Any chance Foster could be traded?
