I am going to say four games. By then he will be hurt enough to let Williams play. If Foster is out for a few games I say he never gets the starting job back.

What damage will it do to our cap if we let Foster go after next season?

long as he's healthy this year, he's the starter and Williams fills in. If Williams turns in 2-3 100 yard games over a period where Foster's hurt, then the roles are reversed. Foster, worst case scenario, doesn't get cut in 06 or 07. He's not too expensive to cut before 07, I just don't believe they do it.

Not much at all. Foster's contract is structured a lot like T.O.'s in that it's basically a set of three one year deals.

Although he's had the injuries, Foster has freak potential. He flashes it every year. The Colts game in 2003. Some of those runs in Q4 and OT looked like Walter Payton. NFCCG, breaking 6, 7, 8 tackles for a TD. Last year, taking Earl Little for a 35-yard ride on MNF. He does run too high, and he does get hurt at least once a year.

All I will say is "Shit, I am psyched that he is still here, and double psyched that he is going to be paired with Emmitt Smith's son."

Foster was playing great at the end of last year. I am not sold on the idea that he will play that well this coming season. Maybe we should numb his toe every game whether he is hurt or not.

I think it is inevitable that Foster will get hurt and Williams will fill in. Hopefully Willaims will be as good as I think he will be. If that happens Foster is a backup again except this time a very highly paid backup.

If Foster stays healthy and he and Williams split carries we might be really good in the running game. Our upgrade at center and possible upgrade at guard (with Mathis stepping in) should open more holes for our backs anyway.

That was fun to watch. Foster definitely has a nice highlight reel here, just wish his overall production could be more consistent. I'm excited about this season though. Hellacious schedule, but on paper at least, a team to match.
