I have to admit it I am a caffeine addict. Coffee, diet Pepsi, chocolate, BC Powders, whatever. I am giving serious though to downsize my intake a little. If I went cold turkey I would probably end up in a orange suit in a mug shot. First step is decaf coffee. How long do you think you could go. Symptoms of caffeine withdraw other that irratabilty

sometimes it helps to start half and half decaf and regular at the coffee bar. I can just stop but invariably I start drinking coffee again especially if it always on and free.

about 8 years ago I went cold turkey no caffeine. Decided after I only slept for 30 minutes one night that I needed to get myself off of it. I have it every now and again and notice when I've had caffine.

Caffeine rarely effects my sleep. I just am hyper type of person that lives off coffee at work and usually has a Diet Pepsi withing arms length the rest of the time. I'll probably do what VOR said and half and half it. Caffeine free drinks are flat as hell tasting to me. I mean caffeine free, diet whatever.... isn't that called water?

Took me a week to get off it. The first day I was weak as a kitten, couldn't seem to wake up.

I have never drank coffee for the purpose of the kick. Just never liked it all that much. My wife however drinks it all the time, even before bed and she sleeps with no problem. Go figure.

They're are supposedly 4 levels of sleep. If you put caffeine in your system within 12 hours of going to sleep, you supposedly don't reach the 4th level.
I used to get really bad headaches if I went more than 6 hours w/o caffeine. So I knew, like you, I had to quit.

I now drink Caffeine Free Diet Mtn Dew, which is pretty good. What I did was just quit cold turkey. By the time night came, the headache was so bad, I took one of those excedrin PM's with caffeine in it. Haven't had any withdrawals (or excedrin's!) since (been 'bout a year).
