How important is QB mobility?

Since we won't be running the WCO this season, how important is QB mobility?

Do y'all think the Fox/Henning system (sounds like a diet) will require Weinke to be elusive?

When we draft a high name QB (probably in a season or two) will mobility be a highly regarded quality?

I've always liked the idea of having a drop back passer, and a HB who has a background in throwing the ball and decent accuracy.
Something tells me that if Dantzler lasts like Weinke (round 4) we'll scoop him up.

I think leadership and the ability to make plays is the #1 thing I would look for above all other skills. I like the idea of mobility, but mainly because its fun to watch. He does not have to be McNabb but some ability to move would be nice...

    1. How does the team respond to their on field general during the game?
    2. Can he lead them from behind? Has he proven this?
    3. When needed, can he move when forced out of the pocket?
    4. How does he perform in the red zone?
    5. Can he limit turnovers

Frankly, I don't care about his pass rating if his 4th quarter stats rank obviously lower than his 1-3 qtrs.

This offense won't require someone so fleet of foot. Although, if a guy is a good QB and happens to be a good runner like a Young or McNabb type of guy, it's a bonus.
Dantzler would be a good project RB, but I wouldn't think about him until at least the fifth round, he could slip even to the sixth

Most important things for a QB

    1. Accuracy. You have to be able to hit your targets consistantly.
    2. Poise. Having the mental toughness to go through your reads and make good decisions
    3. Vision. Having the physical ability to go through your reads and make good decisions.
    4. Arm Strength - It's not the be all and end all, but you have to have at least have some zip or defenders will be there. See Craig.
    5. Mobility - More important than it used to be, but if you don't have the top 4, it doesn't matter.

the number one asset is knowing how to win. screw statistics and whatnot, winning percentage and the unmeasurables are by far the #1 aspect a qb can have.

I like it when Piper says what I would've had to.

I NEVER have understood wy Craig never worked on arm strength

That's one of those things he could have improved with a little work in the gym

I dunno. You can improve it some in the gym, and good mechanics can get the most out of it.

But like a pitcher, you either got it, or you don't.
