yeah , like larry brown said "he's untradeable". thanks mark cuban for that one, again a team that has the means to overspend. I imagine he will give tyson chandler a more than ridiculous contract this summer.

ed-luckily the cats didnt have to pay the m-pete or marks contract listed either

Gerald Henderson has a good game against the Bulls, 20 points, 8 assists and 3 rebound is very solid. If he turns into a solid pro that would be huge for this team.

i agree, you can't just throw money at a problem, but if people are really expecting the bobcats to win a championship, you gotta spend money.

teams dump guys to cut payroll. maybe they have a big contract they don't like and the only way to get rid of it is to package it with a guy they just drafted who has a some potential. i don't know what specific deals could be had since i'm not privy to all the info gms have, but these kinds of moves happen all the time. sometimes there are deals that are crazy good -- like pau gasol going to the lakers as a salary dump.

on the other hand, if the hornets think paul won't re-sign, they might be happy to trade for a few picks and some expiring contracts (for filler). that is the curse of the small market team -- it's hard to keep your franchise players unless you're winning. the bobcats have actually had good talent the last couple years. not world-beaters, but good. but you gotta pay good talent and so dumping salary is equivalent to dumping talent.

the irony here is that other teams have gone into lotto mode and so the cats are still tied for 8th in the east (tho they lost the tie breaker to indy so they're technically 9th).

overall, my biggest issue with the cats is that they had ONE winning season and ONE playoff series and they've already gone into rebuilding mode. it's just so clippers-esque.
