How can you screw up Jello?

    My dad made jello on Friday. The top turned to rubber. There was a solid piece covering the entire top of the container about a quarter inch thick that was like rubber. I was able to pull it off in one solid sheet.

    Odd...........anybody got any clue on what could have caused that?

    Probably not enough water??

    It sounds like he almost made jigglers lol

    After you pulled off this top layer the rest of the jello was fine. I even got brave and tasted it. The top layer was very cloudy, almost looked like it was lots of air bubbles or form that had harden.

    I checked and the boxes of Jello weren't expired so I don't think that was it. He made another box later that day and it was fine so he just must have screwed something up when making it the first time.

    It came about by not stirring and dissolving the granules enough.
