Once you are saved, can you lose your salvation?

    Yes. By renouncing your faith.

Now, is that a verbal thing or would killing someone be the same as renouncing faith?

It's a heart/mind thing. It all boils down to what you really believe, and how serious your faith is.

You're not the only one. So, if I really believe in Jesus, etc and just slip up one day and kill someone, I'm still saved? That's cool.

what if you really believe in Jesus, and you slip up one day and commit a sin, then are you lost? that's not cool.

That's not how I took Hasbeens statement, but yea, that would suck. Are there "degrees" of sin that are not as bad as others?

i don't think so. i think people think there are degrees but i think one sin is just as bad as another. i think. somewhere it says if you have committed one of these, you have committed all of them. i don't know the chapter or the verse.

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

The point of it is that if you are going to try to justify yourself by saying that you kept the law, then you need to keep the whole thing or you are quilty of breaking the whole thing. Kinda like when your shoot a BB gun through a huge window, it is a small hole but you have to replace the whole thing.
