Brandon Miller got off to a typical rookie result. He had more fouls and TOs than field goals.
He was 5-11, 6 TOs and 7 fouls. I didn't even know you were allowed 7 fouls.
In average Hornet fashion they couldn't score and couldn't play any D.
The other 1st round pick, Nick Smith, was 5-14.
The team got shelled by 21 98-77.
The game's most eye popping stat was the Spurs out rebounded the Hornets 51-26.
This number two pick played a lot like the last number two pick.
All the fans hope Miller's career ends up more productive than MKG's.
His 3 stroke is light years ahead of anything MKG ever had.
I did read that the Summer League did allow 10 fouls each. Holy shit.

Kai seems to have topped out in Greensboro.

We have a knack for drafting the minor league types

The Hornets did much better in their second summer league contest. They only lost by 15 points to a Warriors' team. The Miller watch showed he only took 4 shots in 28 minutes of game time.
He did have 7 assists to go along with 8 motherfucking fouls.
I'm sure some improvement is forthcoming in the next couple of games.
I don't think Portland has played any games yet, but I for sure will keeping my eyes on Scoot Henderson.

    Portland plays Charlotte on 7/11.
I definitely want to follow that game.

Well damn. I hope he'll be well enough by 7/11.

"Portland Trail Blazers rookie Scoot Henderson's summer league debut came to an early end Friday when he suffered a right shoulder injury in the second half and was ruled out for the rest of game in Las Vegas, the team announced.

Henderson, the No. 3 overall pick in this year's draft, was subbed out with 4 minutes, 51 seconds left in the third quarter against the Houston Rockets.

The 19-year-old point guard was having a strong debut before the injury. He finished with 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting to go with five rebounds, six assists and two turnovers."

The Hornets lost another summer league game today. They lost by 18 to the Lakers.
The Hornets' #2 overall pick was 4-18 in FGs in 28 minutes and he was 0-7 in 3points attempts. So his stat line was 10 points, 8 rebounds, 1 steal and only 4 fouls.
I can't really imagine him taking too many minutes away from any roster starters unless he shows some real improvement. The coaching staff in order to save some face will give him more minutes than he probably deserves because how could you not give the # 2 overall pick plenty of minutes. It's like admitting they made a mistake. They had the second overall pick and chose someone that is now good enough to insert in a game.
So he'll be put in and he will struggle just like Bouknight did.
The main thing that the summer league team lacks is a decent point guard and good coaching.

The Hornets lost again, but this game was different.
First is, they only lost by 4.
Second, both Miller and Nick Smith Jr showed out.
Well at least on the offensive side.
Smith had a 33 point showing with Miller throwing in 26.
A much more enjoyable and exciting contest.
