Hornets 2020-2021 Season

I watched them take a shit on Houston last night. It's a fun team. Very wide open/fast paced. Completely different style compared to the Clifford years.

 

I did not know the NBA had trimmed down it's season from 82 to 72 games the year.
There are only 26 games left in the Hornet's regular season.
I hope they don't ruthi the rest of this season up by falling asleep.

 

I've gotten into the habit of watching games lately. It's a solid product. It's very weird when the ESPN announcers randomly riff on faux-civil rights issues, but I usually have the volume down anyway.

 

i've switched to nba league pass thru apple tv (from being on directv for like ... ever). i can't figure out if it's the delivery service, the team i'm following now (okc -- rebuilding), empty stadiums, the weird season schedule, my own personal weird schedule or maybe a combo of all of them, but this season just hasn't been nearly as interesting to follow....

 

I usually check in around April and then check back out when Charlotte is eliminated. I'm guessing that will be in the first round of the playoffs this year.

 

Speaking as a Hornets' fan I've been more dialed in than normal.
With the additions of Hayward and Ball on the team makes for a more watchable product.

 

if you watched that okc-cha game, you got a glimpse of what i've had to endure this season. okc seems capable with a rando group of player for like 2+ quarters, and then they fall apart at some point. they aren't exactly tanking, but they're clearly trying out young players to see what they've got. given they've got a bazillion draft picks from other teams over the years, tanking isn't exactly necessary to get a good pick. they've got some intriguing talent that is getting some nice burn, and they're putting on display pieces they might be able to move later if they show up in games. but man... it's rough to watch.

 

That was one sloppy ass game by both teams. I think OKC had like 20 TOs or something like that. The refs could have called a lot more fouls. The inside action was brutal.

 

I guess the Hornets can call this the season of injuries. They're playing themselves right out of playoff position.

 

After a loss tonight the Hornets will have lost the last 6 out of 7.
They are playing their way toward another decent draft position.
