Horn wants Mora fined for phone

THAT would be fucking awesome. They beat us last year and kept us out. Fair play I think

 

Mora was not celebrating, and did not bring the phone on the field. He was trying to find out how to best get into the playoffs. No foul.

Bringing the phone on the field was what Horn was fined for. The rule about bringing stuff on the field was made after the TO signed the ball with the pen.

Yeah, but this part of the article suggests reason doesn't matter.

Maybe he was just trying to look like someone important. He sure doesn't give off that vibe without the phone.

 

Hmm.

First, if using the phone helped them make the playoffs, pay the fine and don't worry about it.

2nd, radio upstairs and tell them to get on the phone.

NEW YORK (AP) - Atlanta Falcons coach Jim Mora has been fined $25,000 by the NFL for using a cell phone on the sidelines during the team's overtime loss to Tampa Bay on Dec. 24.

Mora was fined under a rule adopted last March prohibiting the use of cell phones or any other form of communications by coaches or players on the field - other than the regular phones used by teams to communicate between the sideline and press box.
That was a recommendation of the league's competition committee, the co-chairman of which is Rich McKay, Atlanta's general manager.

Two years ago, New Orleans' Joe Horn was fined $30,000 for using a cell phone after scoring a touchdown. The NFL said the fine against Mora had nothing to do with the rule under which Horn was fined.
